Claudia Milic

The formal simplicity of Claudia Milic's jewellery - wrought in gold and silver - dissolves into reams of identical elements on closer inspection. These elements are crafted from industrial yard ware like wire and machine-made chains and combined by hand. From thousands of parts strung together emerge loose and harmonically self-contained chains which flexibly adapt to the wearers body. The visual moment of surprise proceeds into the haptic experience of the weight and surface of the chains - characteristics linking up to the duration of the repetitive working process and the handling of material and form connected with it. Consequent and beyond short-lived fads the jewellery designs even-tempered works full of detail that express the desire for constancy and an individual alliance between the piece of jewellery and the wearer.
