Well here we are into July and officially into the ‘summer’ holidays – if only someone could tell the weather man! There have been some great new collections in this past few weeks – loving the range of work on show currently – the place is feeling refreshed and I am being tempted to treat myself far too frequently!
The first brand new collection is from young designer silversmith Jen Ricketts. Sheffield based Jen does amazing large scale silver work of cityscapes, which translates perfectly into her jewellery range which includes couples on benches, bikes and post boxes. Some great cufflinks for those gents who have everything.
I worked with Eileen Gatt when I taught in Dundee and have loved her work forever. She is a busy lady and I have finally pinned her down and got some of her beautiful jewellery. It just arrived in on the weekend and is going out on display today – I can see the penguins walking out the door…or coming home with me!
Mirri Damer is another jeweller whose work I have admired for years and we finally have on show as of last week. Cornish based Mirri has a lovely variety of textures in her work. There is stunning silver textured ring with scattered stones that I can see many of you falling in love with.
There are also new rings in from Hannah Bedford, new pieces from Manu and a full new colour range in from John Moore!
Hope to see you in Morningside soon!
